Dr. John Guariglia - Oral Surgeon at Suffolk Oral Surgery Associates, LLPJohn Guariglia, DDS is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is experienced in the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He completed a Residency in General Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (both in Kings County Hospital), and a Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Missouri Baptist Medical Center.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Guariglia is actively involved in continuing education, the Suffolk County Dental Society, and cub scouting (Cub Master of Pack 163). He also maintains a teaching position at Kings County Hospital.

His private practice includes the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, with an emphasis on office-based outpatient procedures including dental implants, bone grafting, dental alveolar surgery, Maxillofacial pathology and reconstruction, and anesthesia.

What is your philosophy of dentistry? How do you want patients to feel when they leave your office?

Dentistry is the one field of medicine where diseases are treated, function is restored, and beauty, as well as self-esteem, is improved. I want patients to feel as though they received the best, most current treatment available.

What do patients get from your practice that they wouldn’t get somewhere else?

Patients are treated by a group of caring professionals who understand their needs and fears. One of our doctors is available 24 hours a day for post-operative emergencies. For difficult cases, they get the combined experience of Five Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

What do you like most about dentistry? What do you like least?

I love the ability to totally change a person just by restoring their ability to eat/chew in an esthetically pleasing way which increases their self-confidence. My least favorite aspect of dentistry is dealing with insurance companies.

Dr. Mundiya and Staff helped myself and my Mother during her visit. My mother has Alzheimers - doing anything "routine" is a process . I was so nervous going in, thinking it's all going to be s*@t show! I must say it wasn't nearly as bad a I thought it would be! From taking the x-ray to having her tooth extracted, it all went smoothly. The staff was compassionate and patient as was Dr. Mundiya. He told me the results of the X-ray and what the extraction would be like straightforward -that is such a help when already dealing with an alzheimers patient! I would definitely recommend this office.

This has been. The easiest and nicest process considering what it entails.. this dental experience was one of the best i have ever had. Although hope not to need them again (tooth removal for implant) i highly recommend to all.
